Toyota Prius Safety

Alongside basic safety measures, such as airbags and rearview camera, the Toyota Prius comes with numerous advanced driver assistance features, one of which is Toyota Safety Sense that is standard on all newer Prius models, from the 2017 model year. Aiming to protect you and your passengers from danger, this bundle of active safety tech includes:

• Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection to reduce the likelihood of colliding with another car or a pedestrian
• Lane Departure Alert to warn you when it senses that you may have drifted from your lane
• Automatic High Beams, which detect headlights and taillights of preceding vehicles and toggle beams accordingly
• Lane Tracing Assist, which uses the lines on the road to help keep the car centred

Older Priuses from around 2006 come standard with antilock brakes and traction control to help prevent skidding, with optional Electronic Stability Control and side-curtain/side-impact airbags.

Toyota Prius Interior

With the four different Toyota Prius models, there are six different trim levels for Canadian drivers to choose from. The interior features excellent build quality with comfortable seating for everyone. Additionally, the four-door hatchback is perfect for families with young children thanks to the full set of LATCH child-seat connectors with an upper tether in the middle seat. All the connectors are easy to find and simple to operate. Meanwhile, the vehicle’s centrally mounted hybrid system indicator displays the vehicle’s operating condition while providing eco-friendly driving assistance as per the current driving conditions.

Toyota Prius Technology

Every recent model—from around 2015—has automatic climate control, keyless entry and push-button start, as well as Toyota’s Entune infotainment system. However, some drivers find that the Entune’s operating system can be a little bit difficult to use. Whereas, models 2012 and earlier include climate control as well as an MP3 player with auxiliary audio input. The eco-friendly Toyota Prius offers excellent fuel-efficiency with its hybrid powertrain yielding an estimated 4.36 L/100 km in the city and 4.70 L/100 km on the highway.
