Porsche Macan Safety

Starting with first-generation vehicles produced in 2015, the Porsche Macan has been fully equipped with full-size airbags for the driver and passengers alike, as well as the following safety features:

• Traction and stability control – to reduce the chance of skidding
• Anti-lock braking system (ABS) – to keep brakes from seizing up

While newer models of the Porsche Macan integrated active driver assistance technologies, such as frontal collision warning and blind-spot monitoring, the standard 2015 model did not include these.

Porsche Macan Technology

Since its inauguration, the Porsche Macan has been available in a number of trim options, ranging from Base to Turbo. Formerly an add-on, the tri-zone climate control system joined the following features as standard in 2016:

• 11-speaker stereo with a 7-inch touchscreen display
• Bluetooth and USB port
• Heated side mirrors

Newer models also come standard with the Porsche Communication Management interface, an easy-to-use system that looks just as good as it functions.

Porsche Macan Space

Despite offering seating for up to five people, it should be known that the Porsche Macan is a driver-oriented vehicle. The cockpit-style front layout places the comfort of the driver and navigator above that of the rear passengers. In terms of overall cargo capacity, the SUV struggles to compete with larger models, such as the Audi SQ5, but still offers up to 17.7 cubic feet with the rear seats in use. When those rear seats are folded down, this total increases to 53 cubic feet for jobs that require some serious space.

While the standard 2015 engine is powerful enough to reward drivers with a sporty and responsive feeling, newer models and higher tiers offer an experience that is similar to Porsche's sports cars.
