Pontiac Vibe Safety

Standard features in all Pontiac Vibes include fog lamps and daytime running lights to ensure good visibility, as well as child safety locks. Driver and passenger airbags are also included, but side airbags aren’t standard in models produced before 2009. Other features that are optional in earlier variants but standard in cars since 2009 include:

• Anti-lock braking system to help prevent skidding when you brake quickly
• Traction control to keep the tires on the road on slippery surfaces
• Electronic stability control to prevent swerving if the wheels lose traction

Pontiac Vibe Interior

The Pontiac Vibe has a long list of available interior features, though most competitors come with more of these in their base models. Standard features for all Pontiac Vibes include:

• Adjustable steering wheel
• Rear floor mats
• Power mirrors that can be adjusted at the push of a button
• Auxiliary power outlet
• Power steering 
• Vanity mirrors for driver and passenger (not with all convertibles)

Options available with higher trim levels and newer cars include power windows and door locks, as well as keyless entry and front reading lamps. In 2006, Pontiac offered leather seating with their new Premium package. Steering wheel-mounted audio controls are available on cars produced from 2009 onwards when the Pontiac Vibe had a complete design overhaul. 

Pontiac Vibe Technology

Across model years, the Pontiac Vibe comes with AM/FM radio, a CD player, an auxiliary input jack and a four-speaker stereo as standard. There is the option of upgrading to a premium sound system. Satellite radio and MP3 players are available with upper trim levels and newer vehicles. A hands-free communications system is included as standard with models produced from 2009 and is optional with some trim packages in older vehicles.

Pontiac Vibe Space

The Pontiac Vibe is acclaimed for its large and versatile cargo area, which is one of the most spacious in its class. When the rear seats are folded down, the cargo space can compete with compact SUVs offering over 49 cubic feet. The Vibe seats up to five, though space is more adequate for four in older models—the roomier rear seats on cars produced from 2009 onward allow five passengers to sit more comfortably.

Pontiac Vibe Comfort

Air conditioning is standard in all Pontiac Vibes in 2009. The loud four-cylinder engine can be disruptive to cabin comfort at high speeds. Some drivers find the cloth seats uncomfortable, but leather seats are available with the high-end GT trim. Rear seat heat ducts are available as standard for added comfort. Leather upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel are an option with select trim levels.
