Mercedes-Benz SL Safety

Technology has come a long way since the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class was introduced. Drivers who prioritize should stick with models that were made since 2016. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class comes standard with: 

• Adaptive cruise control
• Night vision
• Rearview camera
• Parallel park assist
• Blind-spot monitoring
• Lane-keep assist

You can find comprehensive packages available on recent models, including standard driver-drowsiness warning and the automaker's Pre-Safe system, which closes the windows and tightens seatbelts during a collision.

Mercedes-Benz SL Interior

The Mercedes-Benz SL was never designed as a family car, therefore, you won't find any LATCH connectors on this model. Leather heated/cooled seating is standard, and drivers can opt for Magic Sky Control, which gives you the option to adjust the clarity of your panoramic sunroof. The dashboard features touches of wood, while the steering wheel is wrapped in leather (wood is also available). Seat massagers, power seat adjustments and dual-zone climate control are also standard on modern models.

Mercedes-Benz SL Technology

This model has been around for almost 70 years, so it's safe to say that if you're looking for a modern infotainment system, high-end speakers and wireless connectivity, you're better off sticking to models that were produced in the last 10 years. In 2013, the COMAND infotainment system was upgraded, which made it much straightforward to use. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay became standard in the 2017 models. Drivers can also find Harman Kardon speakers and Bluetooth connectivity. For a price, a Wi-Fi hotspot is available.

Mercedes-Benz SL Space

The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class roadster has two comfortable and spacious seats with plenty of leg- and headroom (even with the top up). This model has slightly more cargo than other roadsters or sports coupes in its class. Keep in mind that when the top is down, trunk will be reduced, but drivers don't have to worry about their cargo getting crushed, as there is a separate partition for the folded roof. 

Mercedes-Benz SL Comfort

In 2017, the roadster was upgraded to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The base engine is powerful and built for performance, and the higher up the trim line you go, the sportier the engine gets. In terms of handling, the SL, which stands for "sport light", tells you that this model was more designed for cruising than racing. Even so, it handles corners well and picks up speed quickly. As with many cabriolets, the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class's interior doesn't completely block out road noise.
