Infiniti G35 Summary
The Infiniti G35 is a compact car that was made by Nissan’s Infiniti division from 2003-2008. A popular car in its class, the G35 was named Motor Trend’s 2003 Car of the Year. The rear-wheel drive version (the all-wheel drive model is called the G35x) has either five-speed automatic transmission or six-speed manual transmission. Meanwhile, the V6 engine provides powerful acceleration. Sedan (four-door) and coupe (two-door) versions are available, as well as convertibles. Sports car enthusiasts will be glad to know that the G35 got an updated, sportier look in 2005, and again in 2007.
Infiniti G35 Safety
Several safety features come standard in the 2007 Infiniti G35:
- Anti-lock braking system (ABS) and brake assist to improve traction while stopping
- Electronic Stability Control, which keeps the car steady in slippery conditions
- Front-seat head restraints to avoid whiplash
All G35s come equipped with airbags for both the front and rear seats. For drivers who venture out in all weather or stray from the main roads, the G35x all-wheel drive model is a safer choice than the standard rear-wheel drive G35.
Infiniti G35 Interior
The G35's interior has a high-quality look and feel. Functionality also factors into the design, and some reviewers have noted that ergonomic layout makes driving easy. Starting with the 2005 model, the interior features real aluminum and rosewood trim for a touch of class. For audiophiles, a Bose audio system is included in premium packages (ranging from seven to 10 speakers, depending on the model).
Infiniti G35 Technology
While newer cars will obviously outstrip the G35 when it comes to cutting-edge tech, it does have the following features:
- Dual-zone air conditioning
- Rear air conditioning vents
- One-touch rear windows
- Keyless entry
- Satellite radio, available in 2004 models onwards
- MP3 players from models 2007+
Infiniti G35 Space
The G35 has a spacious cabin, and the back seat is roomier than in comparable cars. Some adult passengers have found the headroom a bit lacking in the back seat, but there is plenty of legroom even for people over six feet tall. The G35 had generous trunk space for its class at 14.8 cubic feet, but on convertible models the roof can take up a lot of this space when it's down.
Infiniti G35 Comfort
The long wheelbase of the G35 gives it added stability, creating a comfortable ride. However, it doesn’t have the “riding on air” smoothness of some full-sized luxury cars—drivers will definitely be able to feel the road. Of course, whether this is a good or a bad thing comes down to personal taste.
The driver’s seat has power adjustments and two memory settings for different drivers. Leather seats add a high-end feel, although cloth seats were the standard in some models and trims. Automatic climate control makes it easy to set your preferred temperature and not have to fiddle with it while you drive. This was included throughout all production years. A premium “winter” package included heated front seats for chilly mornings, which became standard in later models.
