Hyundai VENUE Summary
The Hyundai Venue is the brand's all-new subcompact SUV released in 2020. With the body of a small crossover, the Hyundai Venue drives like a car but comfortably fits the whole family. The lineup comes with a healthy list of standard safety and tech features, even on the lowest trims. Impressively, there are five trims in total to choose from, giving drivers plenty of options and affordable price points. If you're on a mission to find a budget-friendly SUV, consider the Hyundai Venue, which is easy on your wallet at the gas pump.
Hyundai VENUE Safety
The Hyundai Venue doesn't disappoint when it comes to modern safety specs. If you're a stickler for safety, consider the Preferred trim line (second up) and beyond, as it offers Hyundai's Smartsense safety package that includes:
- Lane-keeping assist – to help you stay in your lane
- Driver attention warning (DAW) – to keep you alert when the car senses fatigue or distraction
- Blind-Spot collision warning – to keep you aware of other cars in the adjacent lane
Hyundai VENUE Interior
The Hyundai Venue can fit five passengers on cloth seats, or premium cloth seats with leatherette bolster on higher trims. The bells and whistles are concentrated on the front rows with adjustable heated seats and two centre cup holders. Cruise control is standard and higher trims come with a power sunroof. Metal and dark hard plastics encapsulate the user-friendly front dash and infotainment system. Drivers who enjoy a more polished interior will be attracted to the higher trim lines.
Hyundai VENUE Technology
You don't have to climb up the trim ladder to get the technical gadgets you'd expect from a new car. For instance, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across all features, as is handsfree Bluetooth connectivity and a USB input. All trims come with a sizeable eight-inch touchscreen display.
Other technical goodies you can expect include:
- XM radio (Ultimate trim)
- Rearview camera
- Extra USB charging port (not included on the Essential or Preferred trim lines)
- Navigation system (Ultimate trim)
Hyundai VENUE Space
The Hyundai Venue does not offer as much cargo space as other SUVs in its class, such as the Nissan Kicks. That being said, the front seats are nice and roomy, while the backseats give passengers plenty of leg and shoulder room, making it a comfortable ride for adults on shorter trips. Children and small passengers will find the backseat spacious and airy. For a subcompact SUV, the front seats are roomy and provide lots of visibility.
Hyundai VENUE Comfort
The Hyundai Venue is a smooth and comfortable ride. It handles well around sharp corners. While there isn't an ample amount of power under the hood, it can navigate well under even harsh weather conditions. Its compact size makes it easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces, but driving over uneven roads or potholes might feel a little rigid. Front-wheel drive is the only available drivetrain, but you won't have any issues with handling thanks to its three driving modes that make it easy to drive through snow.
