Honda Accord Safety

Even the Accord LX (the base model) comes with a long list of standard safety features to help keep you and back-seat passengers secure. Newer models from 2018 have Honda Sensing technology, including forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking, and modern trims feature these basic safety technologies:

• Four-wheel anti-lock braking system (ABS) to prevent skidding—standard on all generations
• Front knee airbags

Older models from 2007 also have ABS, as well as full-length side curtain airbags as standard. Additionally, it received a perfect rating in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) frontal-impact crash testing.

Honda Accord Interior

Comfortable seating, a spacious cabin and fuel efficiency (especially with the Hybrid models) make the Accord a pleasurable ride. As far as sedan cars go, the Honda Accord is consistently praised for its interior comfort. All models—including the older ones—have a simple interior with quality finishes. Heated front seats became standard on the base model only in 2019—just make sure to check the details of the trim level if you’re after this feature.

Honda Accord Technology

You may be surprised to find your favourite technologies available on an older Accord. For instance, the 2013 base model comes with Bluetooth, an 8-inch infotainment display, USB and auxiliary inputs, as well as keyless entry. Available driver-assistance features include lane departure warning and lane-keeping assist, which gently steers you back to the centre of your lane. Some drivers, however, can find these intrusive. Newer models from 2017-2019 also have:

• Apple Carplay/Android Auto
• Remote engine and push-button start
• Multi-angle rearview mirror with dynamic guidelines to make reversing easier
• Hands-free mobile phone interface with steering wheel-mounted controls
• Voice command, although some drivers say this could use improvement

Honda Accord Space

The Accord, no matter which design generation it belongs to, is known for having ample legroom, a spacious cabin and sizeable trunk. For those who enjoy driving a sedan instead of minivan or SUV, these factors could make for an accommodating family car. Some clever packing is needed to make use of all that trunk space, as the opening is known for being narrow. 

Honda Accord Comfort

Turbocharged four-cylinder engines give the newer models plenty of kick, and some Accords even include the optional V6. Available in both automatic and manual transmission, you'll find more options as you move up trim levels, such as sport mode and an optional 10-speed automatic transmission.
