GMC Sierra 1500 Safety

Recent 2019 models of the GMC Sierra 1500 sport plenty of safety features. For instance, HD Surround Vision uses cameras on all sides of the truck to show you a complete and crystal-clear picture of your surroundings, giving you far more visibility when manoeuvring. Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert automatically lets you know if you drift out of your lane or if anything is in your blind spot, so you can drive with confidence.

Older models like the 2010 have earned five stars on crash tests and come standard with antilock brakes and a stability control system, which helps prevent skidding and detects loss of traction, as well as roll-mitigation technology to stabilize the vehicle during overturning. Front and side-curtain airbags are also standard. 

GMC Sierra 1500 Interior

The Sierra 1500’s cabin design hasn’t evolved much in recent years, but it still offers superior comfort and functionality. Storage compartments in the front and rear seatbacks, under seats and in the instrument panel allow you to store tablets, phones, chargers or snacks with ease. Additional features include:

• A leather-wrapped steering wheel, which provides both style and comfort
• Sound-absorbent carpeting and dashboard, allowing for peace and quiet in transit

If you opt for the Work trim on models from 2007, you'll have the basics, such as OnStar and air-conditioning. But the SLE trim offers tinted windows, keyless entry and a leather steering wheel with mounted audio controls.

GMC Sierra 1500 Technology

Newer GMC Sierra 1500 models from 2017 have a wealth of tech features on offer. The optional heads-up display projects key information—such as current speed and fuel levels—onto the dashboard. The truck’s signature C-shaped LED headlights are eye-catching, and the Elevation and SLT models also feature LED fog lamps to ensure visibility in challenging conditions. 

Base models from 2010 still have sufficient tech features, from a tilt steering wheel for added comfort to a CD/MP3 player with satellite radio. On higher trims like the SLE and SLT, you can add an auto-dimming rearview mirror, rain-sensing wipers and a Bose audio system with a six-CD changer, as well as USB connectivity.

GMC Sierra 1500 Space

If space for passengers and cargo is what you’re after, you can’t do much better than the GMC Sierra 1500. The 2019 model carries up to six passengers at a time and holds up to 71.7 cubic feet of cargo, so you can bring plenty with you. Models from 2011 still offer lots of space, with 75.5 cubic feet if you opt for the Long Box option.

GMC Sierra 1500 Comfort

The Sierra 1500 leads its class in terms of front head and leg room, with up to 43 inches and 44.5 inches respectively in newer versions. Recent editions of the Sierra 1500 also have larger rear doors for passengers to get in and out easily. On top of that, there is more legroom in the back.
