Chevrolet Blazer Safety

The Chevrolet Blazer’s safety features have improved with each generation. A driver-side airbag was introduced in 1995, and its 2019 trims feature head-curtain airbags for front and rear passengers and frontal, side, and knee airbags for front passengers only. Starting in 1995, base models included automatic transmission, creating ease-of-use for the driver and freeing-up concentration. Crosswinds have proven hazardous to earlier versions, but from 1993 on, cars were built on a ladder-style all-steel frame, which improves overall stability. 

The 2019 model's rear roofline is lower, limiting visibility. However, its other safety features have seen major improvements, including: 

• Lane Change Alert to keep drivers from leaving their lanes
• Side door-guard beams to prevent injuries from side collisions (1994 S10 trims and higher)
• Standard four-wheel anti-lock brakes, preventing wheel lock-up when braking hard
• Available auto-emergency braking (1990+ models) to improve braking at the last second

Chevrolet Blazer Interior

All Blazers include fabric seating with leather available with 2019 models. Air conditioning became optional in 1992 and standard in 1995. All versions adopted electric windows in 1993, including electric lift glass release for the rear window. Automatic heating/ventilation for the front seats is available as of 2019.

Chevrolet Blazer Technology

The earlier Blazers’ attention to technology was minimal. Early vehicles featured a humble cigarette lighter and AM radio, with AM/FM stereo radio in 1994 (Silverado Decor levels and higher). However, the 2019 model's features are something to boast about:

• Standard Apple/Android/SiriusXM® and Bluetooth® 
• Touchscreen multimedia centre with backup camera (base-level trims)
• Standard USB ports in front and rear seats
• Optional 4G LTE mobile hotspot, with Bose® premium 8-speaker audio system

Chevrolet Blazer Space

Across all generations, the Blazer’s interior is spacious with significant legroom. The rear seats in all generations feature a 60/40 split, which increases the trunk’s 31 cubic feet. For additional seating, those from 1993-1995 have an optional 40/60 front seat, which accommodates a third front passenger. Hauling big loads is not a problem since the Blazer's towing capacity tops out at 3175 kg. Finally, all 1975 and prior models include a removable fibreglass top, which opened up headroom above—replaced by a sunroof in all 2019 versions.

Chevrolet Blazer Comfort

The Blazer was originally designed as an off-road vehicle, reflected in its independent front and rear suspension systems for rough roads. Although the 2019 Blazer is not built for off-roading like its predecessors, it has maintained the comfort of a smooth and solid ride.
