The Cadillac Escalade is one of the most recognizable names in the automotive world. It’s known as the de facto choice for those looking for the best in big American luxury SUVs. The Escalade’s appeal is more than skin-deep too. Thanks to its truck-based platform and powerful V8 engine, this SUV is capable of towing a lot compared to its other car-based competitors. Buyers have the option of rear-wheel drive or the popular choice of four-wheel drive. The Cadillac Escalade comes with seating for five, seven or eight, depending on generation and model.

All Escalades offer substantial amounts of space, though third-row legroom is tight in the regular models. The third row also can’t fold flat, and a high cargo floor can make grocery loading tricky. Need more capacity in the way-back? Look for the ESV extended-wheelbase model, which adds 24 cm of legroom in the rear.
