Acura TSX Summary
The Acura TSX is a luxury vehicle that packs in a lot of perks. While production on the Acura TSX stopped in 2014, it is still a popular choice among drivers across Canada. When you look at the wide range of features that come standard with each vehicle, it's easy to see why. Some drivers may find that the standard four-cylinder engine lacks the power they want. However, you can always upgrade to the stronger V6 engine if the base one doesn’t meet your needs. With either option, you benefit from a smooth ride, accurate steering and excellent handling.
Acura TSX Safety
The TSX comes with an impressive list of safety features. On the latest model—2014—the following come as standard:
- Driver, passenger, front head, rear head and front side airbags
- Four-wheel anti-lock braking system (ABS) to keep you from skidding
- Brake assist, ensuring that the vehicle stops quickly in emergencies
- Electronic stability control and traction control, preventing collisions caused by skidding or over-steering
- Integrated turn signal mirrors, making your car visible to vehicles in your blind spot
Some of the above come standard in models as old as 2007, such as the ABS, brake assist and airbags. Both the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave each model a rating of “Good”, meaning you can rely on the Acura TSX to keep you safe on the road. Drivers agree, praising its long list of safety features.
Acura TSX Interior
The Acura TSX offers a spacious interior, 10-speaker audio system and power windows. The elegant interior makes it easy to overlook the limited colour options. Contoured, heated front seats and a curved dashboard make the Acura TSX as attractive as it is comfortable.
Acura TSX Technology
Many high-tech features come standard with the latest Acura TSX, especially when compared to other vehicles in its class. They include:
- Bluetooth connectivity
- USB port
- Satellite radio
- HomeLink remote control system, allowing you to activate connected devices like your garage door or exterior lights
- Voice recognition
- 8-inch display screen
A Technology Package, offering navigation, a rearview camera and a premium sound system is standard in models made after 2012. You can expect models from 2007 to have standard dual-zone automatic climate control and a premium sound system, with an optional easy-to-use navigation system, rated one of the best on the market.
Acura TSX Space
Compared to other luxury vehicles in its class, the Acura TSX offers above-average cargo space. Trunk size in models made before 2011 was 12.8 cubic feet. This increased to 14 cubic feet for all later models. Seating is available for five adults. Models made after 2009 offer an extended cabin, providing additional room in the front. Though, some passengers complain about a lack of legroom while riding in the rear seats. If you routinely drive with adults in the back, consider purchasing newer models that offer more backseat space.
Acura TSX Comfort
Supportive and adjustable front seats make for a very comfortable ride. A well-made suspension system ensures a smooth ride with very little road noise making its way into the interior cabin. A V6 engine, 460 horsepower and the choice between a five-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission make the Acura TSX fun to drive. Even with the base four-cylinder engine, you are guaranteed a responsive car that handles well.
