The Volkswagen GLI is a variant edition of the popular Volkswagen Jetta. Formerly referred to as the Volkswagen Jetta GLI, the sporty upgrade was introduced in 1984. The acronym âGLIâ stands for Grand Luxury Injection, a similar trim style to the Volkswagen Golf GTI or Grand Tourer Injection. The main difference between the two upgrades was that the Volkswagen Jetta GLI was larger and available in a four-door.
