The Maserati GT or GranTurismo is a slick luxury sports car available as a coupe or convertible. The coupe has been on the Canadian market since 2008, and the convertible since 2010. True to its brand, the Maserati GT offers an impeccably designed interior bursting with mod-cons. It’s got a powerful engine lineup, including the 4.7-L V8 with its signature roar. The two-door sports car seats four, though its sleek design may make the back seat cramped for taller passengers. For standard technology, drivers should look no further back than the 2018 model, as this was the first year to offer standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality.
Maserati GranTurismo history
The Maserati GranTurismo coupe first debuted in Europe in 2007, delighting car enthusiasts with its combination of Italian style, premium interior features and powerful 399-horsepower Ferrari engine. The Maserati GranTurismo S launched in 2008, the same year that the car arrived in Canada. This model was equipped with a larger 434-horsepower engine and a top speed of 295 km/hr. The Maserati GT soft-top convertible, known as the Maserati GranCabrio in some markets, was introduced in 2010, with the high-performance Maserati GranTurismo MC debuting the following year. While there was a small update in 2012, all models from 2008 to 2019 belong to the same generation. Production of the Maserati GT ended in 2019, but a new generation of this luxury sports car is expected to launch in 2022.

Maserati enthusiasts will be satisfied with what the GT has to offer. Drivers looking for a high-performance sports vehicle might also check out the Audi R8, which offers a bit more power at a slightly lower price tag. The Maserati GT’s roaring engine and exquisite handling (not to mention its luxurious interior) make this sports car well worth the asking price, though.
