It is not often you come across a vehicle that was exclusively designed for Canada. Meet the Acura CSX, Canada’s very own subcompact executive car. This four-door sedan was introduced in 2006 as a predecessor to the Acura Integra. Remaining in production through to 2011, the Acura CSX was eventually replaced by the Acura ILX, which was sold throughout North America. The design of the Acura CSX was so successful that Honda opted to use its platform as the eighth-generation Honda Civic.
Consider the vast range of Acura CSX features
With the Honda Civic utilizing the same stylings, the Acura CSX needed some defining features to separate it from its brethren. The Acura CSX received a longer nose with styled headlights. A crease up the hood and some additional shaping on the rear helped to differentiate the high-end Acura CSX from the Honda Civic and shine as a unique design. Special features made just for the Canadian market included a bilingual voice-activated navigation system and high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps for our challenging weather.
The Acura CSX has options galore
You can find an Acura CSX for sale with all sorts of different features and options. The sedan premiered with three unique trim levels: Touring, Premium and Premium + Navi. Available with automatic and manual five-speed transmissions, all trim models were only available with a 2.0L straight-four engine. In 2007, an Acura CSX Type-S variant was released, offering a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Unfortunately, the Acura CSX was discontinued in 2011 despite being one of the company's best-selling vehicles in Canada. Honda announced that the direct successor of the Acura CSX would be the new Acura ILX released for the 2013 model year.
